The Democrats’ one-party rule has failed the public.
Record-high inflation is crushing families and senior citizens, violent crime is ravaging our streets, illicit fentanyl is killing our children, and illegal immigrants are flooding across our southern border.
President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats have no plan to fix the crises they have created. Republicans, on the other hand, plan to deliver commonsense solutions to get America back on track.
In September, we welcomed House Republican leadership to Washington County, Pennsylvania (more than 200 miles from the Beltway and far from the liberal pundits and Washington political class), to unveil our plan to restore America. It’s called the Commitment to America, and it’s a promise from congressional Republicans to pursue and pass policies that create a strong economy, a safe nation, a free future, and an accountable government.
Our first commitment to the public is to create a strong economy. A Republican majority in Congress will fight inflation by reining in the Democrats’ tax-and-spend agenda and ending the Biden administration’s disastrous regulatory policies that drive up our costs. Cutting red tape and empowering American companies to meet consumers’ needs will reduce costs across the board (in the grocery store, at the gas pump, and on your electric bills) and allow you to keep more of your hard-earned paycheck.
An important part of our plan is to undo the damage Biden has done to our energy sector and restore America’s energy independence by incentivizing domestic energy development and production. By ending the Biden administration’s crippling regulations on domestic oil and natural gas producers, resuming oil and gas leases on federal land, and fast-tracking pending oil and natural gas infrastructure permits, we will lower gas prices and energy costs.
Republicans are also committed to securing our nation from both domestic and foreign threats. The unprecedented national security crisis at our southern border is ravaging our neighborhoods. The cartels send illegal immigrants across our border in waves, distracting our border security while they smuggle fentanyl, criminals, and terrorists into our communities.
Republicans will combat illegal immigration and secure our southern border by completing the border wall, enforcing the “Remain in Mexico” policy, ending catch-and-release, and providing Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents with the necessary funding and resources.
We will also bolster our nation’s laws and make sure that those tasked with enforcing them have the support they need. Across the country, violent crime, theft, and drug trafficking are surging due to the Democrats’ efforts to defund and demonize law enforcement officers. We will uphold the rule of law and reduce crime by cutting off federal funds to leftist prosecutors and district attorneys who intentionally release criminals back on the street.
And we will back the blue by making attacks on police officers a federal offense with severe consequences and providing funding to recruit 200,000 new police officers across the country.
Republicans are committed to an American future in which the rights of its citizens come first.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, unelected bureaucrats and woke school boards across America mandated unscientific lockdowns and virtual learning that proved detrimental to K-12 students’ academic development. Adding insult to injury, radical special interests and liberal school administrators are telling parents that they don’t have the right to weigh in on their children’s education.
Republicans will ensure every child can succeed and that all parents have a voice without having to worry about being targeted by corrupt bureaucrats with partisan agendas. By passing the Parents’ Bill of Rights, we will take power away from politically motivated school boards and return it to American families.
In addition to attacking concerned parents, the Department of Justice and the FBI have teamed up with Big Tech to censor and silence conservatives.
Republicans will hold unelected bureaucrats, corrupt government officials, and Big Tech companies accountable for weaponizing their power to target people because of their beliefs and ideologies.
Finally, Republicans are committed to holding our government accountable. Our constitutional rights are under the worst attack in modern history. The Democrats’ one-party rule has expanded bureaucratic overreach and made the federal government less accountable to the people from whom it gets its power.
Republicans will fight to preserve America’s founding principles. By pursuing truth, striving for transparency, exposing corruption, and rooting out bad actors, we will return power to where it belongs — with the people.
A Republican majority will reinstitute rigorous oversight of the Biden administration and their Wall Street and Big Tech conspirators to level the playing field for everyone. We will ban insider stock trading by Congress, investigate the politicization of science, tackle hypocritical ESG standards, and root out the pervasive woke culture infecting our military and other institutions.
America is an exceptional country, but the last few years have been increasingly challenging, and Democratic policies have made things worse.
America needs a new direction. America needs a plan. Our commitment to America provides the public with both. Through it, Republicans will restore American exceptionalism.
