Former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page blames the FBI for costing him his girlfriend and livelihood.
During an interview with the New York Post, Page expressed support President Trump’s characterization of the FBI’s use of an informant to contact members of his 2016 campaign with ties to Russia, including Page, as “spygate.”
The informant has been identified as Stefan Halper, who Page described as being a “politically motivated” mole.
Amid the heightened scrutiny he faced as the Russia investigation that began in 2016, Page claimed he lost his girlfriend, who he said was “freaking out with the fake news about me,” along with damage to his business and income.
After the breakup, Page said that he “booked a last-minute hotel reservation as part of this early chapter of the redefinition of my life.”
