In an interview with a transgender activist, Biden said that nobody should be able to prevent doctors from chemically or surgically transitioning children, which Democrats and activists euphemistically refer to as “gender-affirming care.”
“I don’t think any state or anybody should have the right to do that — as a moral question and as a legal question,” Biden said. “I just think it’s wrong.”
Other countries, including Finland, France, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, are wisely reevaluating gender transitions for children, recognizing that social contagion has spurred a surge in children being referred to clinics as transgender. In the U.K., children were pushed into gender transitions while their other mental health issues were being dismissed as side effects of not being the right gender. The insane mindset of “transition no matter what” has been rolled back in these countries.
But not so in the United States.
It does not matter to Democrats and transgender activists how contradictory their logic really is. It does not matter that transgender activists want to do away with stereotypical gender roles on the one hand but think on the other that if a boy plays with a doll he must begin transitioning into a girl.
It does not matter that some activists think that 4-year-old children should begin the transitioning process or that some of the medical professionals working at children’s hospitals think that children can know their gender is “wrong” before they are even born.
Nor does it matter that these procedures being pushed on children are not reversible. Children as young as 4 are being pushed down this path, even though puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones can prevent them from having children of their own in the future. You can’t simply use a “pause button” on puberty, as St. Louis Children’s Hospital has claimed. And young teenagers who were hastily pushed into full transitions will never regain the body parts that doctors removed.

For Biden and today’s Democratic Party, it is morally wrong if you don’t subject children to irreversible, life-changing procedures that will negatively affect them for the rest of their lives. They do not believe in affirmation; they believe in telling children that they must change, permanently, because of a disorder that they do not understand with consequences they cannot imagine.
