Tim Allen recently shared his thoughts on Disney’s latest film Lightyear.
Allen voiced Buzz Lightyear previously in the four Toy Story movies. This time around, the prequel focusing on the Lightyear character featured the voice of Chris Evans.
“This is a whole new team that really had nothing to do with the first movies,” Allen said of the newest Pixar production.

The actor claimed he believed the film would be a live-action movie. Instead, he noted the difference between the new film’s iteration of Lightyear and the Lightyear toy.
“There’s really no Toy Story Buzz without Woody,” Allen said. “It just doesn’t seem to have any connection to the toy.”
Lightyear has seen disappointing box office numbers in the two weeks it’s been in theaters. It earned $51 million at the box office during its premiere weekend and sat behind Jurassic World: Dominion, which premiered the weekend before. The film’s total domestic profits reached $89 million as of the end of last weekend.

The children’s film has been banned in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia over a scene featuring a same-sex kiss.
