Syracuse University officials had a “Let’s go Brandon” sign removed from the stands of the school’s football stadium Saturday during the Orange’s football game against Boston College.
The sign had the “Let’s go Brandon” phrase in blue letters, flanked by two skulls bearing the Syracuse “S,” according to a photo.
The sign had to be taken down due to its profane nature, said Sarah Scalese, Syracuse University’s senior associate vice president for communications.

The sign, hung on the railing, contained no swear words or any explicit language.
The profanity was implied, Scalese said.
“While signs are welcome during athletic events, signs with profanity — explicit or implied — will not be tolerated,” she said. “Once the signs and the nature of their content were brought to our attention, our event staff and public safety worked expeditiously to seek the removal of the signs. We appreciate our patrons’ cooperation with this request.”
“Let’s go Brandon” refers to a slogan stemming from a NASCAR race in which a journalist misreported the chant “F*** Joe Biden” as praise toward winning driver Brandon Brown.
