A Georgia teacher who went missing has been found dead in Mexico.
Alexandra Morales, a 24-year-old teacher from Gwinnett County in Georgia, was found dead in Mexico, her family members told a district spokesperson.
“We were all very hopeful that they would find her and she would be returning safely, but that was not the case,” a representative for Gwinnett County Public Schools told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Morales was last seen in the Guadalajara region of Mexico on Oct. 30 after attending a concert in Zapopan. The Benefield Elementary School principal issued a letter to parents on Tuesday informing them that Morales was missing, and her death was reported later that day.
Police are investigating the cause of death for Morales.
A GoFundMe page that describes Morales as a “loyal friend to many” was created to raise funds for the family.
