It appears gay and transgender activists have a lot more pride than Americans do.
They just celebrated an entire “Pride Month.” As the Fourth of July approaches, it seems more than ever that American patriotism is lost.
In 2021, just 84% of the country even celebrated the Fourth of July. Today, some are sadly embarrassed to be American. This goes to show how far we as a nation have veered from what the Founding Fathers wanted. To be ashamed of being an American reveals how conditioned we have become to the privileges and freedom of America.
According to a Gallup poll that has been conducted repeatedly since 2001, American pride has been on the decline. Those who call themselves “extremely proud” to be American have hit a record low of 38%. It’s at least something that only 4% of people are “not at all” proud.
Over time, changes in the presidency, the economy, and events affect national pride. Currently, 58% of Republicans are “extremely proud,” in contrast to Democrats’ 26%. Back in 2019, before Trump left office, the numbers were 76% for Republicans and 22% for Democrats. It’s disappointing to see so many people change their attitude based on circumstances.
“All party groups have become less inclined to say they are proud of their country, which may reflect deepening political divisions and party gridlock,” Gallup reports.
As people across the country come together to celebrate Independence Day, take pride in where we are now and how far we have come. Our freedom came at a great cost. Do not take it for granted. Be proud to live in the world’s freest country.
Regardless of circumstances or party affiliation, be proud you live on American soil and enjoy your constitutional liberty.
