Djokovic looks to break COVID’s serve with investment in biotech firm

Novak Djokovic and his wife own 80% of a Danish biotech firm looking to create a treatment for COVID-19 that bypasses vaccination.

The tennis star is the controlling shareholder of QuantBioRes, a company working to develop a treatment with a “deactivation mechanism” for COVID-19, according to the company’s website.

Ivan Loncarevic, QuantBioRes’s chief executive, confirmed Djokovic’s investment to Reuters. He said he had not spoken to the tennis star since November and that Djokovic is “not anti-vax,” according to a report.

The biotech company includes 11 researchers who are working in Denmark, Australia, and Slovenia to develop the treatment that Loncarevic stressed is not a vaccine. Clinical trials are reportedly set to launch this summer.
