Kevin Spacey has now been charged with four counts of sexual assault a few days before his appearance in court in the United Kingdom.
The charges relate to five alleged offenses that took place in March 2005, August 2008, and April 2013, in either London or Gloucestershire, with all of the victims being men who are currently in their 30s and 40s. Spacey is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Thursday morning, according to the Metropolitan Police.
The Crown Prosecution Service had authorized charges against him in May, but Spacey could only be charged once he had traveled to the United Kingdom. Spacey said on May 30, a few days after the accusations were released, that he would travel to the U.K. to clear his name, saying he is “confident” in proving his innocence.

All of the alleged incidents occurred while Spacey was serving as the artistic director of the Old Vic Theatre, one of London’s most historic theaters, a position he held from 2004 to 2015. He has denied all allegations of sexual harassment and assault.
Spacey is no stranger to accusations of sexual assault, as he was accused of sexual assault in 2017 by Anthony Rapp, who claimed Spacey had made sexual advances on him when Rapp attended a party as a teenager. Spacey filed a motion in federal court to have Rapp’s lawsuit dismissed in April and also issued a statement apologizing for the advances after Rapp first made his accusations in October 2017, even though he said he did not remember the encounter.

The actor was also charged in 2018 with indecent assault stemming from an alleged incident with a teenager on Nantucket in Massachusetts during the summer of 2016. He pleaded not guilty, the charge was later dropped, and the alleged victim in that case also withdrew a civil lawsuit against the actor.
