Vasquez made a name for herself as she cross-examined Amber Heard and issued closing arguments in the Depp v. Heard defamation trial that concluded last week with an overwhelming victory for Depp.

“Talent agents are circling Camille because they recognize that she is the unicorn — a smart, savvy, poised attorney whose impactful performance during the trial propelled her to a rare level of visibility,” an unnamed source told the New York Post. “And the fact that she is a woman of color is an added bonus.”
Vasquez has declined to say what is next for her, though.

While traveling Thursday with longtime boyfriend and British real estate agent Edward Owen, the lawyer was approached and told, “The world wants to know what you’re going to do next.” Vasquez replied that they were on their way to the airport.
While the lawyer has reportedly received several offers from traditional TV networks and cable channels, Vasquez, who is an associate with Brown Rudnick, could also be on track to becoming a partner with the law firm.
“No firm would allow her to have a role in a big trial like this if she wasn’t on the partner track,” celebrity lawyer Judd Burstein said. “There are two factors that go into making a partner: your quality of lawyering and ability to attract business. She can probably go anywhere and make a nice deal for herself.”
Vasquez’s role during the trial has been noted as being “unprecedented” for an associate.

“Most of the time, associates aren’t given the type of roles she was given — doing the cross and closings,” a woman partner at a high-profile law firm in Los Angeles said, noting she was “very surprised to see [Vasquez] was an associate.”
Brown Rudnick said it is “thrilled that so many people are seeing what we’ve known for years: that Camille Vasquez is a star. … We were always confident that she had what it takes to succeed on this stage. That’s why she is a key member of the trial team and has a bright future with us.”
