Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Dr. Ben Carson “would absolutely, adamantly refuse, in all circumstances,” to perform transgender surgical procedures on minors, he said this week.
In a new interview, Carson, who was once director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, sounded off on sex-change treatments for children, which are designed to make them appear as the opposite sex.

“There’s a reason why they’re called minors,” he told the Daily Caller. “They don’t really know a lot of things, and they learn over the course of time as they become mature.”

He further predicted that society will look back on this period of time, in which some claim that children can decide their gender and should be mutilated to present as such, and wonder, “How could those people be so foolish?”
His message to physicians performing these procedures is to “remember the Hippocratic oath and that they first do no harm.”
Carson advised that “they recognize that they’re expected to lead out in this area, and not be followers, and not be sheeple. But lead out, and to help people understand that children are in the process of maturation.”
He noted that it is normal for children to display curiosity and do things that are not considered traditionally male or female. This doesn’t make them transgender and doesn’t warrant surgical intervention, he said.
Repercussions over the normalization of these procedures are already emerging. A former transgender child named Chloe Cole, for example, recently joined Tucker Carlson on Fox News to discuss her intent to sue the doctors who mutilated her for medical malpractice. Cole was administered puberty blockers when she was just 13 years old and underwent a double mastectomy, in which both of her breasts were removed, when she was 15 years old.

Now, she wants to “hold the adults that put me in harm’s way accountable because what happened to me is horrible,” she told Carlson.
She warned, “It’s happening to children all over the U.S., all over the West, and it’s spreading all over the world.”
