New York made it easier for its residents to identify as nonbinary on a government document last week.
If you want to identify as nonbinary on a New York driver’s license, permit, or nondriver ID, you can order a replacement ID and click the X gender option. Previously, New Yorkers had to visit the Department of Motor Vehicles to change the gender on their license.
It’s absurd that government entities, including New York state, are feeding into the woke delusion that there are infinite genders. Governments should not normalize this nonsense. There are men and women. Biology determines which one you are.
Sadly, New York is not alone in this endeavor.
Other states, including its neighbor Massachusetts, also offer gender X driver’s licenses. No law in Massachusetts says the department must provide nonbinary driver’s licenses, but the Registry of Motor Vehicles started offering them in 2019.
The move came one year after now-Massachusetts Republican Party Chairman Jim Lyons (a state representative at the time) killed a bill that would have made it state law. Lyons filed 73 amendments to it, one for each gender option available on Facebook, so the legislature skipped the bill because there wasn’t much time left in the session. Even though the state issues these licenses without a law, Lyons at least treated the bill with the mockery it deserved.
President Joe Biden’s administration is also guilty of feeding into this woke gender ideology. Earlier this year, the State Department started issuing gender X passports for American citizens. One has to wonder what kinds of problems this may present for people traveling abroad to countries that find woke gender ideology absurd. Thankfully, however, the next administration could abandon this practice.
Woke gender ideology is so widespread that in at least 10 states, you can alter your birth certificate to put gender X on it instead of your actual sex.
This is rewriting history. People generally either have XX or XY chromosomes. And while some people will use the minuscule intersex population as an argument, most people who identify as these made-up genders are not intersex, and intersex people are generally closer to one of the two genders than the other.
It’s even worse in Canada. In 2017, our northern neighbor granted an 8-month-old baby a genderless health card because the parents wanted the child to choose their gender. That’s a preview of where our country is going if we accept this nonbinary nonsense.
