Glenn Youngkin, a Republican, released an advertisement on Monday encouraging Virginians to get vaccinated to beat COVID-19 together.
“COVID-19 has affected us all,” Youngkin said. “Life disrupted and lives lost, but here in Virginia, a better day is right around the corner.”

While the governor does not believe in mandating the vaccine, he said it is a critical tool in the battle against the pandemic.

“I won’t mandate it, but my family and I made the choice to get vaccinated,” he said. “The vaccine is the best way to protect our lives and loved ones.”
Youngkin’s plan includes vaccine events in disproportionately unvaccinated communities and mobile vaccine units to serve rural Virginians.

“We have come so far,” he added. “So I am asking you, as your friend and your neighbor, please get the vaccine, and we can get through this together.”
