A thief in New York City was caught on camera dragging an 85-year-old woman on the ground by her cane and running her into a wall during a robbery Sunday, police said.
The older woman can be seen attacked in the elevator of a Bronx residential building around 3:10 p.m., according to surveillance footage of the attack.
The man exited the elevator with the woman and then returned to grab her bag and pull out her cane, police said.

The thief tried to run away with the bag and cane.
However, the woman held on and was dragged across the ground as the man tried to pull her belongings away from her, the footage showed.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for hip pain, and the assailant was described by police as a man in a bright blue coat, a dark hat, dark pants, and sneakers.
