Trump slams horse as a ‘junky’ after it wins the Kentucky Derby but fails drug test

Former President Donald Trump called the horse that won the Kentucky Derby a “junky” and said its failed drug test is “emblematic” of other alleged cheating in the country.

“So now even our Kentucky Derby winner, Medina Spirit, is a junky,” Trump said in a statement on Sunday.

“This is emblematic of what is happening to our Country. The whole world is laughing at us as we go to hell on our Borders, our fake Presidential Election, and everywhere else,” Trump continued.

Medina Spirit won the Kentucky Derby last weekend, but it was revealed Sunday that the animal had an illegal amount of an anti-inflammatory in its system. Medina Spirit has not been disqualified from other races, as officials are waiting for another sample to determine the horse’s future.

Trump’s comments come amid repeated allegations that the 2020 presidential election was fraudulently thrown in President Joe Biden’s favor.

“The Fraudulent Presidential Election of 2020 will be, from this day forth, known as THE BIG LIE!” Trump said in a statement on May 3.

Trump has also weighed in on the Kentucky Derby before, saying in 2019 that “political correctness” was behind crowning the horse that came in second place as the winner.

“The Kentucky Derby decision was not a good one,” he said after officials ruled the horse that crossed the finish line first had interfered with the progress of competing horses.

“It was a rough and tumble race on a wet and sloppy track, actually, a beautiful thing to watch. Only in these days of political correctness could such an overturn occur. The best horse did NOT win the Kentucky Derby – not even close!”
