Three New York men were charged with hate crimes after allegedly committing a series of crimes targeting members of the Jewish community.
Haider Anjam, 20, and Ashan Azad, 19, both of Brooklyn, were arrested Wednesday on harassment charges after allegedly yelling antisemitic statements to four people outside of a synagogue, damaging a car, and assaulting two Jewish teenagers with a bat. Anjam also faces a charge of menacing as a hate crime.
