Canadian police are seeking help identifying a man who stole a guitar by hiding it in his pants. The York Regional Police in Ontario, Canada, issued a statement on Wednesday seeking public assistance in identifying two suspects who stole the guitar from a local music store.
On Dec. 20, “an unknown male suspect entered the store and stole a guitar by hiding it down his pants. He fled from the area in a vehicle being driven by a second male suspect,” York police said in the statement. The police were not informed of the theft until Dec. 30.

The guitar stolen was a Gibson Custom Shop 60th Anniversary ’59 Les Paul Standard electric guitar, valued at $8,000.
York police released surveillance footage of the theft, where the individual can be seen stuffing the item down their pants.
Both suspects were identified by police as male, white, and in their 20s. One was wearing “extremely large, baggy pants, a black coat, and a Toronto Maple Leafs baseball hat,” while the other was seen “wearing a black mask, a black hoodie, and sunglasses,” according to the statement.
