By now, you’ve probably seen the video of President Joe Biden falling off his bike after a morning ride on Saturday. It instantly became a trending topic on social media, especially for those who dislike the president. In reality, it was just an unfortunate mishap caught on video. But to many, it was just one more blunder by an incompetent and unfit president.
Perhaps the biggest question after the event is whom Biden will blame. Lately, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been the go-to scapegoat whenever Biden wants to evade responsibility. When it comes to record-high inflation and gas prices, baby formula and food shortages, and supply chain issues, Biden has consistently blamed Putin.
Consider some of his most recent comments.
“Putin’s Price Hike hit hard in May here and around the world,” Biden said earlier this month. “High gas prices at the pump, energy, and food prices accounted for around half of the monthly price increases, and gas pump prices are up by $2 a gallon in many places since Russian troops began to threaten Ukraine.”
Biden repeated the claim while speaking at the Port of Los Angeles. “We’ve never seen anything like Putin’s tax on food and gas,” Biden said. “I’m doing everything in my power to blunt Putin’s price hike and bring down the cost of gas and food.” Everything, of course, except altering any of his failed policies that contributed to the mess.
At this rate, would it be that far-fetched to think Biden would blame Putin for falling off his bike?
Perhaps I am being facetious, but Biden’s habit of blaming Putin has reached comedic levels. This constant blame-shifting contradicts what Biden said on the campaign trail, when he regularly lambasted former President Donald Trump for never accepting responsibility and always blaming others.
Consider some of his previous tweets. On April 20, 2020, then-candidate Biden tweeted, “The President needs to stop blaming others and do his job.”
Then, four months later, in August 2020, Biden tweeted, “Here’s my promise to you: If I’m elected president, I will always choose to unite rather than divide. I’ll take responsibility instead of blaming others. I’ll never forget that the job isn’t about me — it’s about you.”
Apparently, that was just something Biden tweeted to fool people into voting for him. He has no intention of taking “responsibility instead of blaming others.”
