A Santa Monica jury found Tuesday that Bill Cosby sexually assaulted a 16-year-old at the Playboy Mansion in 1975 and ruled that the comedian must pay the woman $500,000 in damages.

Judy Huth, Cosby’s accuser who is now 64, told the court in the civil trial that Cosby had molested her, exposed himself to her, tried to put his hand down her pants, and used her hand to touch him in a sexual manner in a blue room at the mansion. Huth said Cosby pursued her after she told him she was “15 or 16” years old and was on her menstrual cycle, even though she was not, in a bid to get him to stop, according to NBC News. Cosby denied the allegations.

JURY IN BILL COSBY TRIAL MUST RESTART DELIBERATIONS FROM SCRATCH

“I was trying to deflect,” Huth said during the trial. “But he didn’t stop. I just closed my eyes. … It was so fast, maybe five minutes. Quick.”

Huth, who filed suit in 2014, claimed to meet the comedian at a park with a friend of hers in 1975. Cosby was at the park to film the movie Let’s Do It Again with Sidney Poitier. After their meeting at the park, she met again with the comedian, who encouraged her to drink alcohol and took her to a party at Hugh Hefner’s mansion, where the alleged assault took place, according to court documents.

The verdict came at the end of a two-week trial. Cosby, now 84, did not appear at the trial and did not testify. Jurors began the deliberations Wednesday but had to restart after a juror had to leave Friday despite the jury’s agreement on eight out of nine questions on their verdict form.

“What happened today wasn’t a victory because they didn’t get the punitive damages,” Cosby spokesman Andrew Wyatt said, according to CNN, which noted Cosby’s team plans to appeal.

The trial was one of the last legal claims against Cosby after an indecent assault conviction against the comedian was overturned by an appeals court in Pennsylvania last year and he was released from prison. The actor has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct.
