Mitchell Martinez of Coral Gables, Florida, was charged with disorderly conduct by creating fear and disorderly conduct by disrupting a gathering, U.S. Park Police said Monday.

Martinez did not have any weapons on him when he was arrested on the Washington Monument grounds and “posed no larger threat to the public,” police added.

Martinez allegedly yelled “I am God” during a moment of silence, causing a brief panic in the crowd, for some feared he had said, “I have a gun,” according to a police affidavit obtained by the Washington Post.
Martinez jumped a fence in front of the stage before playing a song from his album on a handheld speaker, the affidavit added. He then threw the speaker toward the stage as security reached him.
Shortly after the disturbance, a speaker onstage assured the crowd that there was no threat.
Six people received minor injuries after falling over metal gates during the chaos and were treated at the scene, the outlet reported.

Saturday’s event was one of over 450 rallies held across the country, including in New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago, calling for an end to gun violence.
Martinez has since been released with a citation and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
