Two separate car crashes ended fatally Wednesday in Anne Arundel ? and police are baffled. In both accidents the drivers drove off the road for unknown reasons, police spokesman Cpl. Mark Shawkey said.
Lisa Madej, 41, of Pasadena, crashed her 1994 Saturn into a tree at about 4 p.m. outside a house on Creek Road in Pasadena. No one witnessed the crash, but investigators say Majed failed to stop at a stop sign at Lake Road and Creek Road before hitting the tree.
Majed suffered massive injuries and died at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Her family could not be reached.
Hours later, Amy Ross, 17, of Stevensville, was driving her Toyota on Generals Highway when she crossed over the center line into the southbound lane.
The driver of a tractor-trailer, Susan Oldendick, 37, of Edgewood, steered her vehicle onto the right shoulder to avoid a collision, but Ross? Toyota continued to travel further into the southbound lane and struck the tractor.
Ross was pronounced dead at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Oldendick suffered minor injuries.
Ross? family was unavailable for comment.
Police have no evidence to suggest drugs, alcohol or speed contributed to the incidents.
