Chairwoman of Fort Worth school district ‘racial equity committee’ resigns after doxxing parents

A member of the Fort Worth Independent School District’s racial equity committee has resigned after she posted the personal contact information of several parents who had pushed back against the school board’s agenda on Facebook.

Norma Garcia-Lopez resigned from her post as co-chairwoman of the Racial Equity Committee for the Fort Worth Independent School District, saying she resigned because of “the vile and relentless attacks on me by white supremacists,” Fox News reported.

“Every student in FWISD deserves equity and respect. That is my passion and reason for serving on those committees. I cannot allow the vile and relentless attacks on me by white supremacists to distract from or overshadow the continued pursuit of equity in FWISD. That work is too vital,” she wrote in her resignation.

A Fort Worth school district spokesperson told Fox News Garcia-Lopez had “voluntarily relinquished her position as co-chair of the Racial Equity Committee.”

Garcia-Lopez had posted the phone numbers and addresses of four families who had filed a lawsuit against the school district for imposing a mask mandate and obtained an injunction against it.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Garcia-Lopez insisted that her August post did not qualify as doxxing because “it’s not doxxing when you expose someone who filed a public motion in a public court of law that impacts public school children.”

Garcia-Lopez also left a profanity-laced voicemail for one of the parents whose phone numbers she posted, defending it in a statement earlier this month provided to the Star-Telegram.

“Some people find my choice of words in that message offensive. But what’s really offensive is that four white parents could hold so much power,” she told the Texas-based outlet.

Garcia-Lopez accused the parents of sending “a lynch mob to attack me” to silence her for “advocating for equity.”
