Just as it did in promoting reports of firms giving out bonuses up to $3,000 to over 1 million workers following the 2017 Trump tax cuts, a key Washington policy group is starting to highlight stories of those who are losing their jobs because of President Biden’s policies.
Grover Norquist, the president of Americans for Tax Reform, is calling the new campaign “#BidenKilledMyJob.”
In an interview, he said, “Americans for Tax Reform is going out and getting people to do 15 seconds, look you in the eye and say, ‘Joe Biden killed my job.’”
ATR also posted its first video, the story of a former Keystone XL pipeline employee who lost his job when Biden stopped the energy project.

In the video, he said, “My name is Daniel Kuhns. I've been a pipeline welding inspector since 2012. I am currently unemployed due to Joe Biden's executive order to halt construction on the Keystone XL pipeline. I am having a very hard time to find a job that will cover all my expenses.”
The campaign is similar to the project that Norquist and ATR Vice President John Kartch produced following the Trump tax cuts to show how companies reacted by giving bonuses and pay increases. ATR headlined that project the List of Tax Reform Good News.
Many of the companies highlighted were utilities. Norquist explained that the companies typically notify customers when there is a big change in taxes and can’t profit off of tax cuts. As a result, many customers were notified of rate reductions after the Trump cuts.
But as rates increase, as expected under Biden (who is trying to shift the nation to green energy), those same notices could come with bad news.

“All power companies, privately owned power companies, have to reduce the cost of your utility bill by the drop in the tax and not allowed to profit off a tax cut,” said Norquist.
“And when taxes go back up on those companies, you will also be getting a note saying your utility bill is going to go up,” he said.
