NASHVILLE, Tennessee — The so-called militant Left is the enemy within that historians such as Will Durant warned about, according to Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL).
“The militant Left has now seized control of our economy, our culture, and our country,” he said Friday at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority conference in Nashville. “They are working hard to redefine their opponents, and that means each of you. They’re destroying just about everything they touch, and they’ve got their hands on everything.”

Scott denounced how Founding Fathers, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison, “are now considered to be evil racists,” at least according to “top scholars in America’s elite universities.”
“Here’s the good news: The backlash is coming,” he said. “The opposition is building. Americans in flyover country have had enough of this woke abuse nonsense.”
But Scott implored Republicans to be more than “a speed bump on the road to America’s collapse” and propose plans that solve problems.
Scott has been caricatured by the White House and chastised by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for his personal 11-point tax plan. Democrats have linked the pitch to Senate Republicans through Scott’s leadership of their campaign committee.
