Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson surprises Navy veteran by giving him his personal truck

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson surprised a veteran of the U.S. Navy by giving him his Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck.

The actor gave the vehicle to Oscar Rodriguez, a veteran who has spent most of his post-military career helping others, at a Thanksgiving holiday screening of Johnson’s new movie, Red Notice, in Los Angeles.

“He deserves a lot more than my personal truck. Kindness matters to me, so thanks for being so kind to so many people,” Johnson tweeted, along with a video of the event, on Wednesday. “You said it right, just before you drove away ~ it’s just love. That’s all it is, brother. Just love.”

In the video, Johnson is seen telling the audience at the screening that Rodriguez works as a personal trainer, is a leader in his church, and takes care of his 75-year-old mother. He also supports and provides meals for women who are survivors of domestic violence.

Johnson said he was originally going to give away the Porsche that he drove in the movie. The car company said no to the idea, so Johnson decided to give his own car away instead.

Rodriguez posted his reaction the next day on Instagram, thanking the movie star for his generosity.

“Everyday be thankful. Everyday be grateful. Everyday you have a choice to bring positivity in this world,” Rodriguez posted. “I’m just the one lucky soul that the Rock took notice in. Everyday I step into this truck, I’ll be reminded of my purpose. Love!”
