Former NFL player Tony Siragusa dead at 55, teammate says

Former NFL player and television personality Tony Siragusa died at the age of 55, according to a former teammate.

Jamal Lewis, a former running back for the Baltimore Ravens, told TMZ Siragusa died on Wednesday. The cause of death was not immediately available.

Siragusa played college football at the University of Pittsburgh before going undrafted to the Indianapolis Colts in 1990. He played for the Colts from 1990 through 1996 before signing with the Baltimore Ravens. With the Ravens, Siragusa won a Super Bowl XXXV ring, helping defeat the New York Giants 34-7.

Siragusa’s college team, Pitt, posted a tribute to the former player on Twitter.

Colts owner Jim Irsay also posted a tribute to Siragusa on Twitter.

Nicknamed “Goose,” Siragusa retired from football after the 2001 season, joining Fox Sports as a sideline reporter for their NFL coverage.

Siragusa ended his reporting stint with Fox Sports in 2016.
