Anthony Scaramucci to speak at Liberty University convocation in November

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci will speak at Liberty University during a November convocation.

Liberty University confirmed to the Washington Examiner that Scaramucci would be appearing soon, and its president, Jerry Falwell Jr., told the News and Advance that he would be appearing in November.

“I think it will be a good learning experience,” Falwell Jr. told the Washington Examiner. “I think it will be very instructive to the students to hear about his journey this year.”

Scaramucci served as White House communications director for just 11 days. He ultimately left his post after giving a profanity-laced interview to a reporter with the New Yorker, during which he criticized former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.

The university invited Scaramucci to speak at a convocation before he joined the White House in July. The nephew of Mark DeMoss, a former official with Liberty University who left after Falwell Jr. endorsed Trump, arranged the speech, according to the University.

Other convocation speaks announced so far include Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins, Baltimore Ravens tight end Benjamin Watson, senior pastor of Gateway Church Robert Morris and the Harlem Globetrotters exhibition basketball team.

David Nasser, Liberty University’s senior vice president for spiritual development, said on Twitter a specific schedule for convocation speakers hasn’t been released due to security and strategy.

Previous convocation speakers include President Trump and Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas and Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.
