Ana Navarro uses Kyle Kashuv’s rescinded Harvard acceptance to attack Trump

While debating the recently rescinded acceptance of Kyle Kashuv in a Tuesday segment of “The View,” co-host Ana Navarro took it as an opportunity to criticize President Trump, saying, “Kyle, the bad news is you can’t go to Harvard if you’re a sexist misogynist, but you can grow up to be president.”

Kashuv, a survivor of the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, was accepted to HarvardUniversity in March. Just days ago, he found out that Harvard had changed their mind because of offensive, private messages Kashuv to his friends years ago.

Navarro, a frequent critic of the president, initially felt sympathy for Kashuv’s circumstance, saying, “You know, I’m torn about this. I was torn about it. When I first read about it last night, I thought, my God, he was 16 years old. He seems apologetic. A lot has happened in the last two years. He survived a shooting which — this is type of life event that can change anybody. And so I thought, yes, Harvard had been too harsh.”

But after further contemplation, she said, “Just two years ago they rescinded the acceptance of 10 students who had very similar circumstances, memes that were racist and misogynistic and they rescinded the offer. So look, it’s a private institution. Moral character matters, and what can I tell you? Kyle, the bad news is you can’t go to Harvard if you’re a sexist misogynist, but you can grow up to be president.”

Fellow co-host Joy Behar responded, “It’s true. I mean, he could go to Trump University. They’d take him.” Behar went on to suggest to Kashuv, “Take your gap year to contemplate your racism. That would be a productive year.”
