A train hit a car stuck on the railroad tracks in Gaithersburg Friday night, WUSA 9 reports.
The car was struck at the intersection of East Diamond Avenue and North Summit Avenue.
No one was injured. The car’s occupants had already left the vehicle before the accident.
The incident happened at about 8 p.m. It wasn’t clear why the car was on the tracks. A tow truck had been trying to remove the vehicle when the train approached, tow truck driver Tim Denzel told the television station.
