Lara Trump has launched a new children’s book, stressing the importance of a strong work ethic.
The book, The Never-Give-Up Pup published with BRAVE Books, navigates the journey of a determined young detective who reaches his goal despite adversity.
“What is lacking so much in our society today is hard work,” Trump told the Washington Examiner. “People really have a tendency not to want to work hard. Everything’s accessible these days for our kids.”
Trump said the story was inspired by her own childhood experience of trying out and not making her JV cheerleading team.
“I was devastated, and my dad was the one who said, ‘Listen, you can either be upset about this, or you can work really hard over the next year. Then when you go to the tryouts next year, you know, see what happens,’” Trump explained. “So, that’s exactly what I did. I worked as hard as I possibly could over the next year. And the next year, when I went to try out, I made the Varsity team instead of the JV team.”

“It was such an impressionable moment for me. It was something that I’ll never forget because I realized, wow, hard work really does pay off in so many ways,” she added.
Being married to Eric Trump and the daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, she called the timing of the publishing of The Never-Give-Up Pup “divine.”
“Never giving up is such a, I mean it’s almost a platform for my father-in-law at this point,” she said. “It’s really instilled in who he is, and it’s in his character. I never imagined that [the book] would so closely resemble, you know, his path and the path of this book. But it really is, it’s amazing, and the only thing I can say is sometimes it is all about divine timing.”
Donald Trump is the current 2024 front-runner in the Republican Party, polling 61 points ahead of former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley, according to FiveThirtyEight polling.

The former president’s lead comes amid facing four criminal indictments, including a federal 2020 election subversion case, a federal mishandling of classified documents case, a state-level case in New York over an alleged hush money payment made to a porn star, and another state-level case in Georgia for allegedly conspiring with a group of allies to overturn the state’s election results.
He has pleaded not guilty to all 91 charges he is facing, alleging that the indictments are a “witch hunt” concocted by his political enemies in coordination with President Joe Biden.
