This deal could really could be considered “fair trade.”
Marylanders residing in South Korea can now trade their driver’s licenses for a Korean one without any testing, and vice-versa.
State officials were to sign an agreement with South Korean Ambassador Han Duk-soo on Wednesday that would allow Marylanders with noncommercial licenses to skip a written or skills test in Korea. The agreement also will allow Korean citizens to do the same in Maryland.
Motor Vehicle Administration spokesman Buel Young said the Korean licensing standards are similar to Maryland’s practices.
