Conservative political pundit Glenn Beck walked out of an interview on CNN on Sunday after being asked about the state of his multimedia company, TheBlaze.
“Wow. Brian, thanks a lot. I think that’s the most ridiculous question I’ve ever heard,” Beck said during an interview on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” after host Brian Stelter asked him about reports the company was “in trouble.”
“I’m sitting here ready to talk to you about the detaining of children and parents, and trying to break families apart,” Beck continued. “It’s been happening. We want to stop it, and you want to play those games? Have a nice day.”
The Daily Beast on Friday reported that TheBlaze had implemented another round of staff layoffs and that a proposed sale to the Wilks family, who own right-leaning website the Daily Wire, had fallen through.
Beck’s abrupt exit followed the pair’s tense discussion about media coverage of the Trump administration’s zero tolerance policy toward illegal immigration, which resulted in family separations at the U.S. border.
“None of you are willing to listen to what you’re doing. And you’re dividing us even more,” Beck said of members of the mainstream media. “Nobody’s interested in looking at themselves and saying, ‘what did I do?'”
