Rock legend Neil Young joked National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch should shoot him if she doesn’t like his music.
When told by the Daily Beast that Loesch frequently criticized his music and compared his voice to a “dying cow fart,” Young laughed and said he was happy he got under her skin.
“Why doesn’t she just shoot me?” Young jokingly asked.
He quickly added, “You know, I hate to say that because I have kids and I really don’t want anybody to shoot me. I’ve still got to bring up my kids, so don’t take that seriously!”
The Canadian Young has been an outspoken liberal activist throughout his career and was a frequent critic of past Republican administrations.
The Daily Beast reported Loesch has tweeted at least 15 times about Young over the last 10 years.
“What’s her name, huh? Well, I’m glad I got under her skin,” Young said.
