Trump tweets condolences to victims of Pulse nightclub attack on one-year anniversary

President Trump tweeted condolences to the victims of the Pulse nightclub mass shooting and terrorist attack on Monday, the one-year anniversary of the Orlando mass shooting.

“We will NEVER FORGET the victims who lost their lives one year ago today in the horrific #PulseNightClub shooting. #OrlandoUnitedDay,” Trump tweeted.

On June 12, 2016, Omar Mateen, inspired by the Islamic State, killed 49 club-goers and injured 58 others in the largest mass shooting in America’s history. Mateen was killed by the police.

Mateen targeted the club, which catered to gay patrons, on Latin Night.

The former nightclub will be recreated as a memorial and museum.
