Majority of women pressured into having abortions

Mr. Doerr claims that legalizing abortion liberated women by expanding their “freedom of conscience” and saving them from “back-alley butchers.” Studies show that over 60 percent of women are pressured to have abortions they don’t want, usually by the baby’s father, so claiming expanded “freedom of conscience” is totally erroneous.
The butchers may have moved from the “back alleys,” but they are still butchers. Planned Parenthood settled a $1.5 million suit filed by Maryland state Sen. Mike Miller for permanently sterilizing a young girl who suffered severe injuries as a result of her abortion.
And anyone who says that morality doesn’t decline when government sanctions the killing of more than 50 million defenseless human beings is blind to society’s decline.

Young women should be taught self-defense

My granddaughter is finishing first grade with a yellow belt in karate. Don’t laugh!
Isn’t it about time that our daughters and granddaughters be given the opportunity to learn self-defense techniques? Opening up the subject would hopefully prepare them for the threatening atmosphere toward young women that exits in our society today.
Doesn’t it sound reasonable for the subject to be included as an elective option in physical education? How many more of our young women have to become victims before thought is given to offering training on tactics and benefits of self-defense? The only other thing I could suggest it to allow them to carry guns!

Immigration solutions needed to preserve two-party system

The guest worker plan suggested by Andrew Szeliga presents a sensible solution to the immigration problem, which needs to be addressed constructively by offering fair and practical alternatives to those who come here for economic — not ideological or political — reasons.
If those who love freedom miss the opportunity to respond to the pressing needs of immigrants, a large majority of Hispanics will continue to identify with the Democrats, who claim that their party represents immigrants’ best interests. In reality, the Democrats now in power are seeking to increase the number of Hispanic voters in order to become the only party in power. That will be the end of the USA as we know it.
If Republicans don’t change their perception and provide solutions, the Left will advance their communist ideological agenda at the expense of those who find no other political group willing to represent them.
Turning the USA into the next USSA is the worst threat this country is facing right now. Those working toward that end are already in very high positions, and are actively seeking votes to perpetuate themselves in power. Their goal: Absolute power and total control.
