Ohio bakery sells coronavirus 'quarantine cakes' shaped like toilet paper rolls

A bakery in Ohio is selling coronavirus ‘quarantine cakes’ in the shape of a toilet paper roll.

Busken Bakery, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, released the new line of cakes over the weekend. “We have a real TP crisis at Busken. Quarantine Cakes are now First Come, First Serve only at Hyde Park!” Busken Bakery wrote in a Facebook post.

“We are making quarantine cakes that allow families to have miniature celebrations at home,” Busken vice president Brian Busken told CityBeat.com. “Our newest creation is the toilet paper cake. It is important that we continue to laugh together as families and enjoy our time together with our children.”

As is the case with toilet paper in many supermarkets, the specialty cake is currently sold out. The bakery closed all locations but one in Hyde Park, a neighborhood in the Cincinnati area.

More than 737,000 people have tested positive for the coronavirus globally. Of those, at least 35,900 have died from complications related to the virus, and more than 156,500 coronavirus patients have recovered. The United States has seen at least 143,000 confirmed cases, with more than 2,500 associated deaths and 4,800 reported recoveries.
