‘Push that narrative’: Joe Rogan rips media for burying Hunter Biden laptop story

Joe Rogan blasted liberal media outlets for suppressing information related to the Hunter Biden laptop story leading up to the 2020 presidential election.

The Joe Rogan Experience podcaster and his guest, former CIA officer Mike Baker, criticized the media for dismissing stories related to President Joe Biden’s son, saying the media desired to preserve a narrative over reporting the truth.

“This is the problem that I had with the New York Post article and the Hunter Biden laptop being suppressed,” Rogan said, explaining that his opinion is not attached to being a Trump supporter or voting Republican. “You’re looking at something that’s real information, and you’re hiding it from people ’cause you don’t like the result you think is going to come out of that information. That’s not how we’re supposed to be doing things!”

“[The media] don’t just love a story — they love a narrative,” Rogan said. “And they’re willing to ignore facts to push that narrative. That’s what scares me.”

The Hunter Biden laptop story resurfaced this past week when the New York Times verified that the emails connected to the 2020 story were authenticated.

Baker added that the liberal media continue to dismiss the story while accusing conservatives of pushing a specific narrative.

“If you read some of the narrative that is out there now, the social media in the past day or so, ever since the New York Times came out with this, they’re just dismissive of it,” Baker said. “And they don’t care or they’re willing to overlook it. Which is the same thing they accuse the right of doing.”

Rogan also said that YouTube’s recent removal of the Nelk Boys’ interview with former President Donald Trump aligns with a precedent for censorship.

“That precedent is you can stifle information that makes you uncomfortable — you can stifle discussions where people have points of view that you don’t agree with,” Rogan said. “You think you’re right. So you think you should be able to stop those points of view. That is not the way to do it.”

The podcaster added that society and democracy suffer when information is suppressed and only a specific point of view is shared.

“The only way to find out what’s real and what’s not real is to let people talk,” Rogan said. “You have to f***ing talk about things. You have to have open communication. And the only way you find out if someone’s full of s***, or if someone’s lying, or someone’s withholding information is to let people talk and let people sort things through.”

The New York Post published the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020, but tech giants such as Twitter and Facebook suppressed the sharing of the story across the social media platforms, saying the story did not fit their information-sharing policies.

“The truth is messy,” Rogan added. “There’s a lot going on in the world. And you can’t stifle information and debate. It’s not healthy for anybody. And you can’t do it just because you think your side is correct. It’s not good. It’s not, it’s not what’s amazing about a free society.

“You can’t decide that there’s certain ugly aspects of this society that you think should be suppressed,” Rogan added. “Because when you do that, then people can decide your aspect of society is ugly, your perspective is ugly.”
