Favorite Restaurant

Your favorite dinner spot in the region? That’s a tough one, to be honest with you. There are a lot of good restaurants. If I got to put a name on one, I would say Outback [on Route 50].

Best place for out-of-town visitors

I like Clyde’s down on Seminary Road. They got a nice bar, nice oysters.

Favorite Escape

Tinkering around my house, work on my house, that sort of stuff.

Best breakfast

Besides mine, the [International House of Pancakes at Fairfax Circle shopping center], that is pretty nice.

Worst part of living in the Washington area

Too many people. Traffic.

Favorite sports event

I’m a Dallas Cowboys fan. Not the Redskins. We got Cowboys stuff all over — clocks, pictures — all at the restaurant. The whole family is Cowboy fans. If they ain’t Cowboy fans, we disown them.

Favorite historical spot

Mount Vernon

Best memory of Northern Virginia

I had a hawk fly into Bob and Edith’s Diner about six months ago. About a 30-inch spread on him. Flew in the restaurant, hung around about three or four minutes, scared everybody to death, and he left, I ain’t kidding ya.
