House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) will visit Columbia University on Wednesday as pro-Palestinian protests continue at the college and on campuses across the country.
Columbia is experiencing the most visible in a wave of student protests taking hold over several major universities, most of which are focused on support for the Palestinian cause and condemnation of Israel. Congressmen have raised concerns of antisemitism, with some having visited Columbia to voice their displeasure already. Johnson on Wednesday is set to be the latest high-profile lawmaker to make the journey to New York City, paying a visit to the campus to speak with Jewish students.
