Trump thanks Scott Walker, tags wrong Scott Walker

Donald Trump tweeted his appreciation to Scott Walker Wednesday evening moments after the governor of Wisconsin praised the Republican nominee at the Republican National convention in Cleveland, but mentioned the wrong Scott Walker.

“Thank you Governor @ScottWalker6!#AmericaFirst #RNCinCLE,” Trump tweeted, along with a picture featuring a passage from Walker’s speech.

The problem with that tweet is that @ScottWalker6 is Murrow and Emmy award-winning news anchor Scott Walker for WDSU in New Orleans. The governor’s twitter handle is simply @ScottWalker.

Trump later deleted the goof, and attempted to redeem himself by tweeting two minutes later, with the correct handle, “Thank you to Governor @ScottWalker for such warm support. Great speech!”

He also tweeted a short video clip of Walker’s speech, when he said “So let me be clear: a vote for anyone other than Donald Trump in November is a vote for Hillary Clinton.”

Walker the journalist took the mix-up in stride, tweeting “This is comical.”
