Fox News announced Wednesday that it will debut a one-hour weekly political talk show about the rise of populism and hosted by former David Cameron adviser Steve Hilton.
“The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton” will “primarily focus on the populist movement and its impact throughout America and the world,” Fox News said in a press release. “The episodes will take an in-depth look at global news and feature a rotating panel of political experts who will discuss and debate the most prominent stories of the week.”
The timing of the show is notable as it follows the election of Donald Trump, whose rhetoric during the campaign often had populist elements, challenging the status quo of the Republican establishment.
The host, Hilton, who is a Fox News contributor, served as senior adviser to former United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron. He also co-founded Crowdpac, an independent and non-partisan Silicon Valley start-up with the goal of helping citizens engage in politics and running for office and co-founded the consulting firm Good Business. He also wrote a book “More Human: Designing a World Where People Come First” and taught at Stanford University’s Institute of Design.
“Steve’s unique expertise and background has been an asset to our programming and we are excited to welcome his fresh global perspective to our weekend lineup,” said Suzanne Scott, executive vice president of programming.
The show is slated to start airing weekly on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET in May.
