Man accused of threatening to kill Maxine Waters expected to plead guilty: Report

A man accused of threatening to kill Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., over her criticisms of President Trump is expected to plead guilty in court next week, according to a report Wednesday.

Anthony Scott Lloyd of San Pedro, Calif., is accused of threatening a U.S. official, a crime that is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Lloyd left a voicemail with the lawmaker’s Capitol Hill office on Oct. 22, saying, “If you continue to make threats towards the president, you’re going to wind up dead, Maxine, cause we’ll kill you,” according to the news outlet.

The voicemail was reportedly forwarded to U.S. Capitol Police and then the FBI.

Lloyd is slated to enter his plea Monday in front of U.S. District Judge Stephen Wilson in Los Angeles, the Times reports.
