LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — The Lexington Herald-Leader will begin charging users a subscription fee for unlimited online access starting Dec. 4, but will leave some content free on its website.
In a note posted online Monday (http://bit.ly/WrFzrb ), readers were informed that the website, www.kentucky.com and mobile applications will go behind a pay wall. Readers who access less than a certain number of stories every month will continue to have free access.
The switch brings the Lexington Herald-Leader in line with more than 300 papers across the country and multiple papers in Kentucky, including The Courier-Journal, The Messenger and the Kentucky New Era.
