Dim Bulb: Jonathan Chait

WHO: New York Magazine’s Jonathan Chait

WHAT: Chait argued that President Obama’s comment, “If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that,” will harm his candidacy because it has a racial subtext. “The key thing is that Obama is angry, and he’s talking not in his normal voice but in a ‘black dialect,’ ” Chait writes.

WHY IT’S DIM: Actually, Obama’s comment will hurt because he told business owners they aren’t as smart or hardworking as they think, and that big government (for which businesses actually pay) is what makes their existence possible.

CURE: Stop trying to excuse all of Obama’s deficiencies and mistakes by playing the “racism” card.
