The View co-host Meghan McCain suggested that 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke is tailoring his campaign in order to get a show on MSNBC after he drops out of the race.
McCain, 34, made the claim on Wednesday morning, the day after the fourth presidential primary debate. In one viral moment, O’Rourke tangled with South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg over his proposed gun confiscation plan.
“Mayor Pete came out swinging really hard, and I thought it was quite impressive,” McCain noted. “I don’t know what Beto’s doing other than running for MSNBC host. Coming up, I’m sure he’ll get a good hour.”
McCain also bashed Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s performance during the debate, saying she did a “terrible job,” and that the senator “was on her heels all night.”
The daughter of the late Sen. John McCain has backed former Vice President Joe Biden during the Democratic primary so far. Earlier this week, she said that the ongoing controversy surrounding Biden’s son Hunter and his work with a Ukrainian company while his father was still in office is “breaking my heart.”
