Thousands of Barcelona residents marched in protest of mass tourism in the city over the weekend, some of them spraying diners in popular tourist areas with water pistols.
The fed-up protesters chanted, “Tourists go home,” carried placards reading, “Enough! Let’s put limits on tourism,” stopped in front of hotels, and sealed off restaurants with hazard tape.
