What was the motive behind the shocking and brutal killings of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew? The man police call a “person of interest” in the case had been at odds with his ex-wife, the boy’s mother, and had threatened to kill her, a neighbor of the family tells Us.
William “Flex” Balfour allegedly got into a heated argument with Julia Hudson, her brother, Jason, and her mother, Darnell Donerson, about a month ago, regarding the sale of a car he and Julia co-owned, according to TMZ.
Afterward, Flex threatened that “he would kill Julia and mess up everyone in the house,” a neighbor says.
“Flex was crazy, but Jason never took him seriously,” the source adds. “Jason always thought he would be safe, that he could protect himself.”
Flex’s mother maintains that he “had nothing to do with this.” TMZ reports that the suspect maintains his innocence; yet when asked to take a lie detector test, he allegedly refused and “stopped cooperating” with police.
Let’s hope the details of what really happened come to light soon, and that justice is served for this tragedy.
Jen’s men
Is Jennifer Aniston juggling men? The actress recently reconnected with summer fling John Mayer, but she was also spotted dining with “300” hottie Gerard Butler at the very same restaurant where she’d gone with John days before. According to OK!, the former “Friends” star may be using him as leverage to get what she wants from John.
“Jen now has laid down some hard and fast rules for John, if he ever wants things to work out between them,” a friend of hers reportedly told the tabloid.
But while he’s curtailing his player ways, she’s still playing the field: “Jen’s been seeing John, but she let him know other men still find her attractive,” another girlfriend explains.
“Jen and Gerard have chemistry in spades,” an alleged insider says. “I wouldn’t be surprised if something clicked between them.”
Translation: They were probably having dinner to discuss a project.
Sober companion
Nicole Kidman is opening up about husband Keith Urban’s drinking problem, which tested their marriage when they were newlyweds two years ago. The recovering country rocker suffered a relapse and went back into rehab just a few months after their wedding.
“We were thrown into his alcohol problem three months into the marriage, and that was big,” the Oscar winner recalls to Parade.
“You go to hell and back with this — when the addiction takes control of the life, it’s terrifying,” confesses the Aussie actress, whose hubby is now sober again and the proud father of their baby daughter Sunday Rose.
“I love him so deeply, and he has done an amazing amount of work, and he is an amazing husband, and I am just very, very grateful,” Nic concludes.
Your move, Katie.
