Greg Abbott touts over a million 'ineligible' people removed from Texas voter rolls

Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) promoted the success of an election integrity bill he signed into law in 2021, which he said has removed over 1.1 million “ineligible” voters from the state’s voter rolls.

The Republican Party has made election integrity a major focus ahead of the 2024 presidential election, with Abbott signing Senate Bill 1 into law on Sept. 7, 2021. Among the 1.1 million removed from Texas’s voter rolls are over 457,000 people who died and over 463,000 people on the state’s suspense list, the governor said Monday.
