Second-quarter GDP growth revised up to robust 3% rate

Published

GDP growth in the second quarter was revised up by 0.2 percentage points to a strong 3% seasonally adjusted annual rate.

The revised growth rate for the second quarter reported by the Bureau of Economic Analysis on Thursday is up from 1.4% growth in the first quarter of the year. This is good news for Vice President Kamala Harris, who is working to reassure voters that the economy will fare well under her. Harris has been tied to President Joe Biden’s stewardship of the economy, which has been plagued by high inflation and general economic discontent.
