Prince George’s County is holding a free informational session Saturday for potential homeowners or those worried about making their payments. The event is sponsored by the county Department of Housing and Community Development and the Coalition for Homeownership Preservation and will educate homeowners.
“Prince George’s County has been heavily hit since the foreclosure crisis began three years ago, and it continues to bear this burden today,” the groups said. “Exotic loans coupled with high unemployment have increased the number of homeowners who are in fear of losing their homes.”
The seminar, called Predatory Lending and Home Retention Event, is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Refreshing Spring Church, 6200 Riverdale Road, Riverdale, Md.
Free foreclosure legal consultation is available at the event by contacting the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland at (800) 396-1274.
